Responsibilities
- Manage daily circulation desk operations including check-ins, check-outs, and renewals
- Assist patrons with catalog searches, reference inquiries, and digital resource navigation
- Organize and maintain library materials using Dewey Decimal System protocols
- Implement and oversee community engagement programs for diverse age groups
- Process new acquisitions and manage inventory control systems
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on special projects and outreach initiatives
- Ensure compliance with library policies and ADA accessibility standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in Library Science preferred
- Minimum 1 year library or customer service experience
- Proficiency with integrated library systems (ILS) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Certification in First Aid/CPR a plus
- Valid Kentucky driver's license if required for outreach duties
