Responsibilities
- Patron Services: Provide exceptional customer service to library visitors, assisting with research, program registration, and technology support.
- Collection Management: Organize, shelve, and maintain library materials to ensure a seamless browsing experience for all ages.
- System Operations: Assist in the checkout and check-in processes using our modern library management systems and help patrons navigate digital databases.
- Program Coordination: Aid in the setup and execution of community programs, workshops, and reading events.
- Inventory Control: Conduct regular inventory checks and assist in the processing of new acquisitions.
- Reference Support: Help patrons locate resources and utilize library tools effectively.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or library setting is a plus but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Technology: Proficiency with computers, tablets, and standard office software (MS Office, Google Suite).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
