Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with locating library materials, answering reference inquiries, and providing technology support
- Manage circulation desk operations including check-outs, returns, and fine processing
- Organize and shelve library materials according to established classification systems
- Conduct basic cataloging and inventory management of physical and digital resources
- Support program coordination for community events, workshops, and educational activities
- Maintain clean, accessible, and well-organized library spaces
- Collaborate with team members on collection development and resource accessibility initiatives
- Implement library policies and procedures while ensuring patron satisfaction
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or college coursework preferred
- Minimum 1 year library or customer service experience required
- Proficiency with integrated library systems (ILS) and basic office software
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills with ability to assist diverse patron populations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must pass background check and drug screening
