Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patrons of all ages at service desks and reference points
- Assist with circulation activities including check-outs, returns, and renewals
- Organize and maintain library collections using Dewey Decimal System principles
- Support digital literacy initiatives by helping patrons with computer and technology resources
- Facilitate community programs and events for children, teens, and adults
- Process new materials and maintain accurate inventory records
- Collaborate with team members on collection development and outreach projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in Library Science preferred
- 1+ years customer service experience in library, education, or related field
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in library systems (e.g., Sierra, Koha) and MS Office Suite
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Knowledge of digital resources and basic troubleshooting
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license for occasional off-site duties
