Responsibilities
- Operate library equipment including self-checkout kiosks, book scanners, and digital resource platforms
- Assist patrons with catalog searches, material circulation, and technology troubleshooting
- Process new acquisitions using provided cataloging software and equipment
- Maintain accurate inventory records through integrated library systems
- Support community programs using provided presentation and audiovisual equipment
- Shelve and organize materials using modern sorting technology
- Train patrons on provided digital resources and assistive technologies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; library science certification preferred
- Experience with library management systems (e.g., Sierra, Koha)
- Proficiency with digital tools and equipment (tablets, scanners, projectors)
- Strong customer service orientation with conflict resolution skills
- Ability to operate library-specific machinery (book repair, RFID systems)
- Basic knowledge of Dewey Decimal System and cataloging principles
- Ability to lift 20 lbs and stand for extended periods
