Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service assisting patrons with library resources, digital tools, and reference inquiries
- Manage circulation operations including check-outs, returns, renewals, and fine processing
- Maintain accurate inventory and ensure proper shelving, organization, and preservation of all materials
- Support library programs and events through preparation, execution, and participant engagement
- Operate integrated library systems (ILS) and troubleshoot basic technical issues for patrons
- Assist with collection development tasks including weeding, cataloging, and processing new materials
- Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for all community members
- Collaborate with team members on operational improvements and community outreach initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or library certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in customer service, library operations, or related field
- Proficiency with library management systems and basic MS Office applications
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
- Excellent communication abilities with multilingual proficiency highly valued
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation for outreach duties
