Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service at the circulation desk, assisting patrons with check-outs, returns, and account management
- Organize and maintain library materials, including shelving, inventory control, and collection development support
- Assist patrons in locating resources using the library's catalog and digital databases
- Facilitate technology access, including public computers, printing services, and basic tech support
- Coordinate and lead community outreach programs, including children's storytimes and adult workshops
- Process new acquisitions and manage periodical subscriptions
- Collaborate with team members on operational improvements and service enhancements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in library, retail, or customer service environment
- Proficiency with library management systems and Microsoft Office suite
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Basic knowledge of library classification systems (Dewey Decimal)
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
