Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patrons at service desks, including circulation, reference assistance, and technology support
- Manage library materials through acquisition, cataloging, processing, and shelving operations
- Assist patrons with digital resources, databases, and library technology platforms
- Develop and implement engaging community programs for diverse age groups
- Maintain accurate records and reports for circulation, inventory, and patron statistics
- Collaborate with team members on collection development and space optimization initiatives
- Support outreach activities to underserved communities and promote literacy initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Library Science, Information Management, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- Minimum 1 year library or customer service experience in a professional setting
- Proficiency with integrated library systems (ILS) and digital resource platforms
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills with ability to serve diverse patron populations
- Basic knowledge of cataloging standards (MARC, Dewey Decimal)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Valid Georgia driver's license for outreach program participation
