Responsibilities
- Manage the circulation desk operations, including checking materials in and out and processing fines.
- Shelve returned items in correct alphabetical and numerical order to ensure easy access for patrons.
- Assist patrons with locating specific materials and navigating our digital catalog systems.
- Organize and maintain the library's physical and digital collections to ensure accuracy and organization.
- Answer phone inquiries and direct visitors to appropriate departments or staff members.
- Provide exceptional customer service to a diverse range of community members.
- Assist with special events and programs as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a library, retail, or customer service environment is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and library management software.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
