Responsibilities
- Shelving and Organization: Shelve and organize library materials, including books, periodicals, and multimedia items, ensuring they are accessible and returned to their correct locations.
- Patron Assistance: Assist patrons with locating materials, answering reference questions, and navigating our digital catalog system with a friendly and helpful attitude.
- Material Processing: Process new library arrivals, including checking in, stamping, labeling, and covering books to ensure they are ready for circulation.
- Environment Maintenance: Monitor library floors to maintain a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for all visitors.
- Program Support: Assist with the setup and logistics for library programs, events, and workshops.
- Administrative Tasks: Help maintain accurate records and assist with inventory management as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in customer service or a library setting is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for extended periods, and reach shelves at various heights.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
