Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly upon arrival and provide exceptional service throughout their shopping experience.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently, processing cash, credit, and debit transactions with accuracy.
- Handle customer returns, exchanges, and inquiries courteously and professionally.
- Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked with bags and supplies.
- Assist customers with locating products and answering basic questions about store policies.
- Ensure all sales transactions comply with company policies and cash-handling procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow during peak hours.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail sales is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills for accurate cash handling.
- Ability to stand and move around for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a positive attitude.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
