Your Key Responsibilities
- Shelve and organize library materials, including books, periodicals, and media, ensuring accurate classification and location.
- Assist patrons with finding resources, using computer databases, and navigating our digital collections.
- Process new library items, including check-in, check-out, and updating circulation records.
- Monitor library floors to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly atmosphere.
- Support library programs and events by assisting with setup, registration, and attendee guidance.
- Answer general inquiries via phone, email, and in-person with professionalism and courtesy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or experience in Library Science is a plus.
- Previous customer service experience in a public-facing role preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new software systems quickly.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds.
