Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register and point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently.
- Greet customers immediately upon entering the store with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
- Process various payment methods including cash, credit, and debit cards.
- Bag merchandise carefully and maintain the checkout area in a clean and organized condition.
- Assist customers with locating products and answering general inquiries.
- Handle returns and exchanges following company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels at the register and notify management when supplies are low.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in retail or cashier positions is a plus but not required.
- Strong math skills and the ability to handle money accurately.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Reliable transportation and a history of punctual attendance.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
