Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit, and gift card payments accurately and reconcile the cash drawer at the end of the shift.
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions regarding products, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area and sales floor.
- Assist with bagging items and ensuring all customer purchases are packed securely.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in stocking shelves when needed.
- Resolve customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is preferred but not required.
- Strong numeracy skills and the ability to perform basic math accurately.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
