Responsibilities
- Walk Dogs: Safely walk and exercise dogs of various breeds and sizes according to scheduled timelines.
- Monitor Health: Observe dogs for any signs of illness, injury, or behavioral changes and report them immediately to the owner or management.
- Client Communication: Provide friendly and professional updates to pet owners via text or app regarding the dog's mood, bathroom habits, and overall well-being.
- Maintain Safety: Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including leashing dogs in public areas and being aware of surroundings.
- Perform Basic Care: Administer medication or food supplements as directed by pet parents.
- House Sitting (Optional): Occasionally assist with light pet sitting duties, such as bringing in mail or water plants, when not walking.
- Site Maintenance: Keep walking areas clean by carrying waste bags and disposing of waste properly.
Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience with dog walking or pet sitting is preferred but not required; a genuine love for animals is a must.
- Reliability: Punctuality is critical. You must be able to arrive on time for every scheduled shift.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to walk 1-2 miles comfortably and handle dogs of varying weights.
- Transportation: Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
