As a Dog Walker, you will serve as a guardian for our community's pets, ensuring they receive the exercise, love, and attention they need while their owners are away. Whether it is a stroll along the iconic Waikiki Beach or a hike through the lush Manoa Valley, you will create positive experiences that keep pets happy and healthy.
Responsibilities
- Execute Daily Walks: Safely walk and exercise dogs of various breeds and sizes throughout the Honolulu area, ensuring they get adequate physical activity.
- Comprehensive Pet Care: Feed pets according to strict dietary schedules, administer medication if necessary, and ensure fresh water is always available.
- Maintain Hygiene: Always carry waste bags to clean up after pets immediately to keep our neighborhoods pristine.
- Real-time Updates: Send photo and text updates to pet parents during or after walks to provide peace of mind.
- Safety Protocols: Secure property gates and fences, monitor pet behavior for signs of illness or distress, and ensure the pet's safety at all times.
- Client Communication: Build rapport with both pets and owners, answering questions and addressing concerns professionally.
Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience in dog walking, pet sitting, or animal care is highly preferred.
- Reliability: A proven track record of punctuality and dependability is essential for building trust with pet owners.
- Passion for Animals: A genuine love for dogs, patience, and a gentle, friendly demeanor are a must.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to comfortably walk 2+ miles in various weather conditions (Hawaii heat/humidity).
- Schedule Flexibility: Availability to work mornings, afternoons, or evenings, including weekends.
- Background Check: Must be willing to pass a background check and provide professional references.
