Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently and accurately, processing various payment methods including cash, credit, and debit cards.
- Greet customers warmly upon arrival and maintain a friendly demeanor throughout their transaction.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding products, prices, and store policies with patience and accuracy.
- Bag groceries and assist with loading customer vehicles to ensure a complete and convenient shopping experience.
- Monitor the front of the store for inventory needs and alert management to restock essential items.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including the counter, conveyor belt, and cash register.
- Handle cash deposits and ensure the cash drawer balances at the end of every shift.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is preferred but not always required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer literacy is a plus.
