Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with strict attention to accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area.
- Bag merchandise and assist with carry-out services.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of stock needs.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is preferred but not required.
- Strong basic math skills with the ability to handle cash transactions.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency in operating POS systems (e.g., NCR, Micros) is a plus.
