Responsibilities
- Process Transactions: Accurately and efficiently operate point-of-sale (POS) systems to ring up customer purchases, including handling cash, credit cards, and digital payments.
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer inquiries, and provide product recommendations to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Store Maintenance: Keep the checkout area and sales floor organized, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies to maintain a professional appearance.
- Inventory Assistance: Help monitor inventory levels, restock shelves, and assist with inventory counts as required by management.
- Problem Resolution: Handle customer complaints and issues professionally and escalate complex situations to the store manager when necessary.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members to ensure smooth store operations and a welcoming atmosphere for all shoppers.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous cashier or customer service experience is a plus, but we provide paid training for candidates with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Skills: Basic math skills and the ability to handle money accurately.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet business demands.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse customers in a polite and professional manner.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
