Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Greet customers warmly upon entry and provide exceptional service throughout their shopping experience.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with strict attention to accuracy and accountability.
- Answer customer questions regarding products, pricing, and store policies.
- Bag merchandise neatly and ensure the sales floor is organized and the checkout counter is clean.
- Assist with inventory stocking and recovery as needed during downtime.
- Resolve minor customer complaints and escalate complex issues to the Store Manager immediately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous cashier or retail experience preferred but not mandatory (training provided).
- Strong basic math skills with the ability to make quick, accurate change.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Reliable transportation is required.
