Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using Point of Sale (POS) systems and handle cash, credit, and debit payments with strict adherence to cash handling policies.
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience for everyone.
- Scan items, bag purchases, and issue receipts while maintaining a clean, organized checkout area.
- Assist with inventory management by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and conducting regular price checks.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating complex issues to store management when necessary.
- Adhere to all company safety and loss prevention protocols to minimize shrinkage and ensure a secure environment.
- Collaborate with the sales team to drive sales and promote current promotions or loyalty programs.
Qualifications
- Previous cash handling or retail experience is a plus, but not required; we value attitude and aptitude over tenure.
- Strong math skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when counting cash and processing transactions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse customers and team members.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs regularly during shifts.
- Reliable and punctual with a flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proficient in using technology and willing to learn new POS software quickly.
