Responsibilities
- Process Transactions: Efficiently operate Point of Sale (POS) systems to process customer purchases accurately.
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide product recommendations.
- Cash Handling: Handle cash, credit, and check payments with strict accuracy and accountability; balance the register at the end of the shift.
- Store Maintenance: Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
- Merchandising: Assist in organizing merchandise displays and maintaining a welcoming store environment.
- Problem Solving: Resolve customer issues and complaints professionally and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is preferred but not required (training provided).
- Skills: Basic computer skills and ability to learn new POS software quickly.
- Math: Strong mathematical skills for accurate cash handling.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
