Responsibilities
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently to process customer purchases, returns, and exchanges with accuracy.
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Handle cash, credit, and digital payments while maintaining strict adherence to cash handling policies and balancing registers at the end of every shift.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding product availability, pricing, and store policies with professionalism.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor and checkout area.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations during peak hours.
- Alert management to any potential security issues or inventory discrepancies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Cashier or in a customer service role preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong numerical skills and the ability to handle money with high accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new POS systems quickly.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
