Responsibilities
- Manage circulation desk operations including check-ins/check-outs and fines processing
- Assist patrons with catalog searches, reference inquiries, and digital resource navigation
- Shelve materials and maintain orderly library stacks with Dewey Decimal accuracy
- Process new acquisitions and maintain inventory of periodicals and multimedia
- Lead community programs including children's storytimes and adult workshops
- Operate library-specific software (ILS systems like Evergreen or Koha)
- Collaborate with team on collection development and community outreach initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's preferred)
- Minimum 1 year library or customer service experience
- Proficiency with MS Office suite and basic digital tools
- Excellent interpersonal skills with diverse populations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
- Valid Texas driver's license (for branch rotations)
- Background check and fingerprinting clearance required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates strongly encouraged
