Responsibilities
- Accurately ring up customer purchases using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with 100% accuracy.
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service at the register.
- Bag merchandise efficiently and assist with carry-out when necessary.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the checkout counter and surrounding areas.
- Process returns, exchanges, and coupons according to company policy.
- Upsell products and suggest add-ons to enhance the customer experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is preferred but not required.
- Basic math skills and the ability to handle money with high attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (2-8 hour shifts).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
