Responsibilities
- Manage specialized collections including rare manuscripts and digital archives
- Lead community outreach programs for underserved populations
- Supervise 3+ library assistants and 5+ volunteers
- Implement innovative cataloging systems using Koha and ArchivesSpace
- Develop grant proposals securing $50K+ annually for special projects
- Coordinate with local universities for research partnerships
- Train patrons on advanced research methodologies and database navigation
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) from ALA-accredited institution
- 5+ years progressive library experience with supervisory duties
- Advanced certification in archival management or digital preservation
- Expertise in grant writing and federal/state compliance
- Proficiency in integrated library systems (ILS) and metadata standards
- Valid North Carolina driver's license for outreach travel
- Experience with community needs assessment and program evaluation
