Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service assisting patrons with book circulation, digital resources, and reference inquiries
- Manage daily library operations including material shelving, inventory control, and equipment maintenance
- Facilitate engaging children's and adult programming including storytimes and workshops
- Maintain accurate records using integrated library systems (ILS) and troubleshoot technical issues
- Support community outreach initiatives and collaborate with local schools and organizations
- Ensure library spaces remain welcoming, organized, and accessible to all community members
- Assist with digital literacy training including basic computer skills and online resource navigation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in Library Science preferred
- 6+ months customer service experience in fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in material handling and record-keeping
- Proficiency with basic office software and willingness to learn library-specific systems
- Excellent communication skills with ability to serve diverse age groups and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs regularly
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by branch schedule
