Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer purchases, returns, and exchanges.
- Greet customers immediately upon entry and provide friendly, helpful assistance throughout their visit.
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and fully stocked with bags and supplies.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with strict accuracy and accountability.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding product locations, prices, and store policies.
- Assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness and presentation of the sales floor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong numeracy skills and the ability to handle money accurately.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be available to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
