Responsibilities
- Process Transactions: Accurately ring up customer purchases using our Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various payment methods (cash, credit, debit).
- Customer Assistance: Greet customers warmly, answer questions about products, and assist in locating items within the store.
- Cash Management: Maintain the cash drawer, balance registers at the end of shifts, and resolve any discrepancies immediately.
- Store Maintenance: Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and tidy to ensure a professional appearance.
- Inventory Support: Assist with restocking shelves and organizing the sales floor as needed.
- Promotions: Inform customers about current sales and loyalty programs.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Skills: Strong math skills with the ability to handle cash transactions with high accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable attitude.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
