Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately using POS systems and handle cash/credit card payments
- Provide friendly, efficient service while bagging groceries and answering product inquiries
- Maintain clean, organized checkout areas and assist with stocking shelves during downtime
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and escalate issues to store management when needed
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including sanitation standards and cash handling procedures
- Support inventory tasks and promotional displays as directed by supervisors
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations
Qualifications
- Previous cashier or retail experience preferred but not required
- Strong basic math skills and comfort handling cash transactions
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
- Reliable availability including weekends and evenings (15-25 hours/week)
- High school diploma or equivalent; must be 18+ to operate POS systems
- Positive attitude and adaptability to changing store needs
- Valid work authorization and ability to pass background check
