Responsibilities
- Operate Point of Sale (POS) Systems: Efficiently and accurately ring up customer purchases using our state-of-the-art checkout systems.
- Customer Service: Greet every customer with a smile, answer questions regarding products, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Cash Management: Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with strict attention to accuracy and reconcile daily bank deposits.
- Store Maintenance: Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and fully stocked with shopping bags and receipt paper.
- Product Knowledge: Assist customers in locating items within the store and provide recommendations when appropriate.
- Issue Resolution: Handle customer complaints or returns professionally and escalate complex issues to the floor manager when necessary.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Math Skills: Strong ability to perform basic arithmetic and handle money accurately.
- Experience: Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends and evenings.
- Reliability: Punctual and dependable attendance record.
