Responsibilities
- Process Transactions: Ring up customers accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling cash, credit, and check payments with precision.
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer questions about products, and resolve any complaints or issues professionally.
- Store Maintenance: Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies (bags, receipt paper, etc.).
- Inventory Support: Assist with price changes, inventory counts, and stocking shelves as needed during slower periods.
- Security: Monitor the sales floor for suspicious activity and adhere to all store security and loss prevention policies.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members and managers to ensure smooth store operations.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is preferred but not required for enthusiastic candidates.
- Skills: Strong mathematical skills and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by business needs.
- Reliability: Punctual and dependable with a positive attitude towards teamwork.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
