Responsibilities
- Transaction Management: Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems, including cash, credit, and gift cards.
- Customer Engagement: Greet customers warmly, answer inquiries regarding products and services, and provide product recommendations.
- Store Maintenance: Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and fully stocked with supplies to ensure a seamless shopping experience.
- Cash Handling: Reconcile daily sales reports and ensure all cash drawers are balanced at the end of each shift.
- Inventory Support: Assist in stocking shelves and organizing merchandise during off-peak hours to maintain visual standards.
- Problem Resolution: Address customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction scores.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a cashier or in retail sales is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Math Skills: Strong attention to detail and basic math skills with the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required by business needs.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.
