Responsibilities
- Operate Point-of-Sale (POS) Systems: Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash, credit, and debit payments.
- Customer Engagement: Greet customers warmly, answer inquiries about products, and provide exceptional service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Cash Management: Handle cash drawers with strict accuracy, reconcile daily sales, and prepare bank deposits.
- Store Maintenance: Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and fully stocked with supplies at all times.
- Merchandising Support: Assist in stocking shelves, folding clothes, and maintaining a visually appealing store layout.
- Problem Resolution: Address customer concerns professionally and escalate complex issues to the floor manager when necessary.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience as a cashier or in retail sales is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Skills: Strong basic math skills and the ability to handle money accurately are essential.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable learning and using new technology and POS software quickly.
