Key Responsibilities
As a Library Assistant, you will be the face of our services. Your daily tasks will include:
Responsibilities
- Manage the circulation desk, including check-in, check-out, and renewal of materials.
- Assist patrons with locating resources and using library technology.
- Shelve library materials in Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress systems accurately.
- Monitor library floors to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
- Assist with the preparation of programs and events for all age groups.
- Perform light administrative duties such as data entry and filing.
- Answer inquiries regarding library policies and hours of operation.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Library Science preferred.
- Previous experience in a customer service role is highly desirable.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
