Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service to patrons of all ages, assisting with material selection, reference inquiries, and technology support
- Manage circulation desk operations, including check-in/out, fines processing, and account maintenance
- Organize and maintain library collections through shelving, inventory, and preservation techniques
- Support program coordination for children's events, adult workshops, and community outreach initiatives
- Assist with digital literacy training and public computer troubleshooting
- Collaborate with team members on collection development and space optimization projects
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions and patron interactions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or library certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer service or library experience
- Proficiency with integrated library systems (e.g., ILS) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record-keeping
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Excellent communication skills and cultural competency for diverse community engagement
- Basic knowledge of library classification systems and cataloging principles
