Responsibilities
- Manage circulation desk operations including check-in/out, renewals, and fine processing
- Assist patrons with reference inquiries, research support, and digital resource navigation
- Organize and maintain library collections through accurate shelving and inventory management
- Conduct engaging children's and adult literacy programs and community outreach events
- Operate integrated library systems (ILS) and troubleshoot basic technology issues
- Collaborate with team members on collection development and space optimization projects
- Maintain clean, accessible environments for patrons and staff
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; library science certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year library or customer service experience
- Proficiency with integrated library systems (e.g., Sierra, Evergreen)
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to serve diverse populations
- Basic knowledge of Dewey Decimal System and cataloging principles
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends and system-wide branches
- Valid Texas driver's license required for mobile services
