Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with locating physical materials and navigating digital databases and online resources.
- Manage the circulation desk, including processing check-ins, check-outs, and renewals.
- Shelve library materials, periodicals, and media in the correct order to ensure easy access for patrons.
- Process library fines and fees accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Answer and direct telephone inquiries, emails, and in-person questions regarding library services and hours.
- Support the organization of library events, programs, and community outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Basic computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting boxes of books (up to 25 lbs) and standing for extended periods.
- Previous experience working in a library, school, or customer service environment is preferred.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.
