Responsibilities
- Assist patrons in locating books, periodicals, and digital resources using the library catalog.
- Manage the circulation desk, including checking in/out materials and processing fines.
- Shelve library materials in the correct order and maintain the organization of the shelves.
- Answer phone inquiries and direct visitors to appropriate departments or staff members.
- Assist in the setup and facilitation of library programs and community events.
- Perform light cleaning and maintenance of the library spaces to ensure a welcoming environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred but not required.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with technology.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
