Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with locating books, periodicals, and digital resources using the library catalog.
- Check in and out materials, and shelve returned items in the correct order.
- Answer general inquiries regarding library hours, events, and services via phone and in person.
- Organize and maintain library shelves to ensure a clean and accessible environment.
- Process new book acquisitions and assist with inventory management.
- Support library programs and events by setting up materials and greeting attendees.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with technology is highly preferred.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light boxes (up to 25 lbs).
- Valid driver’s license is a plus but not mandatory.
