Responsibilities
- Manage circulation desk operations including check-ins, check-outs, and renewals using provided library software
- Assist patrons with digital resources, research databases, and equipment usage (computers, scanners, printers)
- Process and catalog new materials using provided cataloging tools and systems
- Organize and maintain physical collections (shelving, inventory, preservation)
- Conduct engaging community outreach programs and educational workshops
- Support interlibrary loan services and document delivery systems
- Collaborate with team members on collection development and service improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Library Science certification preferred
- Proficiency with library management systems (e.g., Sierra, Koha)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to operate library equipment (computers, scanners, self-checkout machines)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of Dewey Decimal System and cataloging principles
- Customer service experience in a public-facing role
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
