Key Responsibilities
- Execute efficient circulation procedures, including checking in/out materials, processing fines, and managing library cards.
- Shelve library collections in an organized and accessible manner, ensuring accurate call number placement.
- Assist patrons with locating resources, using databases, and navigating library systems.
- Answer incoming phone inquiries and greet visitors with a professional and welcoming demeanor.
- Perform light administrative duties, such as filing, data entry, and maintaining inventory of library supplies.
- Support special events and programs by setting up spaces and assisting with participant registration.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate's degree or relevant library experience is a plus.
- Previous experience in customer service or library operations preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet browsers.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift books/materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
