Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service at information desks, circulation, and reference services
- Process, catalog, and organize library materials using integrated library systems
- Assist patrons with digital resources, databases, and technology troubleshooting
- Coordinate and lead community outreach programs, workshops, and literacy events
- Maintain accurate records and reports for circulation, inventory, and patron statistics
- Support collection development through weeding, acquisitions, and shelving
- Collaborate with staff to enhance user experience and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Library Science preferred
- Minimum 1 year library or customer service experience
- Proficiency with integrated library systems (e.g., Sierra, Evergreen)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Basic knowledge of cataloging principles and metadata standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Valid California driver's license may be required for outreach duties
