Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patrons, assisting with inquiries, resource navigation, and technology support
- Manage circulation desk operations, including check-in/check-out of materials, fines processing, and account maintenance
- Organize and maintain library collections, including shelving, inventory, and preservation of physical/digital resources
- Facilitate community programs, including children's storytimes, adult workshops, and literacy initiatives
- Collaborate with staff to develop innovative outreach strategies and promote library services
- Utilize integrated library systems (ILS) for cataloging and resource management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in Library Technology or related field preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in library operations or customer service role
- Proficiency with integrated library systems (e.g., Sierra, Koha) and basic office software
- Excellent communication skills with ability to assist diverse patrons effectively
- Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail in record-keeping
- Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
