Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patrons at service desks and via digital channels
- Assist patrons with locating materials, using library databases, and accessing digital resources
- Process and catalog new acquisitions, ensuring accurate shelf organization
- Support program coordination and outreach initiatives for diverse community groups
- Maintain library spaces, ensuring cleanliness and accessibility for all visitors
- Operate integrated library systems (ILS) for circulation and inventory management
- Collaborate with team members on special projects and collection development
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in library science preferred
- 1+ years customer service experience in library, education, or retail setting
- Proficiency with digital tools including Microsoft Office Suite and library databases
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication skills with multilingual capabilities a plus
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as scheduled
- Valid North Carolina driver's license if required for outreach duties
