Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with resource discovery, circulation processes, and reference inquiries
- Manage digital resources including catalog systems, e-books, and research databases
- Develop and implement engaging community programs for diverse age groups
- Maintain organized physical collections through shelving, inventory, and preservation
- Provide technology support for public computers and digital literacy initiatives
- Collaborate with team members on outreach projects and collection development
- Support library operations through inter-departmental coordination and event management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in library services, customer service, or education role
- Proficiency with library management systems (e.g., ILS) and digital resources
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to serve diverse populations effectively
- Basic knowledge of cataloging principles and metadata standards
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks like shelving
- Valid California driver's license may be required for outreach programs
