As a Library Assistant, you'll be the friendly face that welcomes patrons, assists with daily operations, and ensures our library runs smoothly. We provide comprehensive training and mentorship to help you succeed in this rewarding entry-level role.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patrons at service desks and throughout the library
- Assist patrons with locating materials, using library resources, and navigating digital services
- Process and shelve returned books and materials in proper order
- Perform circulation duties including checking items in/out and managing patron accounts
- Support library programs and events for all age groups
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming library environment
- Basic troubleshooting of public computers and printing systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (no college experience required)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with technology
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
