Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with library resources, including book circulation, digital catalog navigation, and reference inquiries
- Process new materials, maintain organized shelving systems, and ensure library cleanliness
- Conduct basic technology assistance for public computers, printers, and digital resources
- Support youth and adult program coordination, including setup and event management
- Manage patron accounts, handle fines, and resolve service issues with professionalism
- Contribute to collection development through suggestions and inventory management
- Collaborate with team members to create an inclusive and welcoming library environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (no prior library experience required)
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn new technologies
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for inventory and record-keeping
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Valid Texas driver's license (for inter-branch transport duties)
