Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the point of sale (POS) system.
- Greet customers warmly upon arrival and provide exceptional service throughout their visit.
- Handle cash, credit, and digital payments with strict accuracy and adhere to cash handling policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and tidy checkout area to ensure a professional environment.
- Assist customers with bagging items and answering general inquiries about products.
- Replenish merchandise on the sales floor and ensure displays are well-stocked.
- Resolve customer complaints or issues professionally and escalate when necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to perform basic calculations quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Must be reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
