Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately using POS systems while maintaining cash drawer accountability
- Provide exceptional customer service through product knowledge, efficient checkout, and resolving inquiries
- Assist with store operations including stocking shelves, inventory management, and maintaining clean shopping areas
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and peak customer flow
- Implement loss prevention measures through vigilant monitoring and adherence to security protocols
- Support promotional activities by executing in-store displays and product recommendations
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in retail or customer service role with cash handling responsibility
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic math skills for transaction accuracy
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage diverse customer demographics
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs repetitively
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred
- Valid District of Columbia food handler certification (or willingness to obtain)
